It's the end of the world With the rapture, believers leave Earth for heaven. Yet, for our narrator, even Paradise is Hades. He's still pining over his unrequited love. He finds some comfort from the muse of comedy. Then Jesus assigns him to discover: why are there tears in heaven? . . . Jesus also warns against a "posthumous work"--a description of heaven, sent back in time. There's no way the narrator would write that book--which is certain to offend. Yet, we are reading it Who would have thought that heaven is so humorous, so sad, so strange?
