IN THE SPRAWLING, rainforest city of Torril, crime is on the rise & the idyllic life the Seat assures its citizens seems to be eroding, so when Torril's museum is robbed of three precious artefacts with the potential to stir up civil unrest, the Bureau of Security want the matter handled swiftly.

Luckily for them, Akteron and Piria are on the case!

With their wits, some luck, and a little magickal help, retrieving those relics should be a snap...or will these two uncover a disturbing plot which threatens not just Torril, but the whole of Aliru?

A PINCH OF PERIL IS BOOK ONE OF THE TORRIL CITY MYSTERION

Praise for A Pinch of Peril:

"FROM THE RAINFOREST with its eccentric wildlife, to the history and political landscape, to the existence of pulvichemy and wards and magickal items and the people who populate [Torril], I could see it, feel it, and was thrilled to be a part of it." - Dale Stephens

"MCLEOD'S STYLE IS SMART AND VIVID. You'll fall into this beautifully crafted world and beg for more." - Jan Dubois

"I LOVE AKTERON AND PIRIA as characters and love their relationship dynamic. I could go on and on about this but it was easily one of my favourite parts of the whole thing!" - Luke Davidson

"THE MAGIC SYSTEM cleverly ties into these well-written interpersonal relationships: each person has a Sharak - a type of otherworldly, magical patron - who can be asked to fulfil a request. Since these Sharaks are beings themselves [this] creates an interesting dynamic!" - Emma, Goodreads Reviewer
