The small Midwestern town of Prairie Rose, Iowa, needs a doctor. Thomas Burton, an intern hoping to escape the city and a secretive and sordid past takes the job and begins to explore a renewed life of purpose and romance. Unfortunately, there are sinister forces that wish to destroy his new life and will go to extreme measures to do so.
